SHUTTERSTOCK T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST
Shutterstock Images, LLC T-Shirt Design Contest for ADC Young Guns CREATIVE BRIEF Assignment: Using 10 images or less, design a t-shirt that will help to drive designers and other creative professionals who want high quality, easy to find, affordable photos and vectors to Shutterstock. The shirt design should be fun and edgy, but tasteful, and communicate these core characteristics of our brand. Our prices are affordable but our library is dynamic and extends beyond simple stock clichés. Of course we have photos of business handshakes and product shots, but we also have quirky vectors, heartfelt portraits and other content that inspires creativity. Concept/Campaign Message: Shutterstock is a vast library that contains a multitude of hidden treasures. When designers explore the collection, these characters inspire them and enhance their many projects. Participation: Project submissions will be evaluated by a jury of Shutterstock editors and creative directors. One submission will be selected for use on limited-edition Shutterstock t-shirts, and the winner will receive a free 12-month subscription to Shutterstock (up to 25 images per day - a $2559 value) and a full set of ADC Young Guns annuals. In addition, a "People's Choice Winner" will be selected at the ADC Young Guns 8 Call for Entries Launch Party, on March 24, 2010 at the Art Directors Club Gallery. Submissions will be exhibited and party attendees will vote on their favorite design. The People's Choice Winner will receive a free 3-month subscription to Shutterstock (over a $700 value) and a full set of ADC Young Guns annuals. Submission Rules and Guidelines: 1. Applicants may not have done design work for Shutterstock or any other Stock agency in the past. 2. Design must be comprised solely of Shutterstock content, using 10 or less Shutterstock images. 3. No more than 10 images may be downloaded from the Shutterstock account. Applicants who download more than 10 images will be disqualified. We encourage all applicants to download lightboxes of images they are considering for use. 4. Applicants must not use images marked “editorial use only." Designs incorporating such images will be disqualified. 5. Shirt should be tied visually to Shutterstock’s current campaign which will be sent to you when you sign up for the contest. Please use the downloadable PDF below as a template. The shirt design should not directly mirror the campaign, but should draw from it in a more abstract or tangential way, bearing some aesthetic relationship, however subtle that may be. Submission Instructions: 1. Email erin@adcgobal.org asking to participate. Please include your full name and how you heard about the contest. You may also nominate talented friends/colleagues to participate! 2. In reply, you will receive a username and login to access the Shutterstock website, where you will be able to download 10 images, as well as a PDF of examples from the current Shutterstock campaign to draw inspiration from (see point 5 in Submission Rules and Guidelines above). 3.
