ADC Young Guns @ Apple Store Chicago: Mikey Burton
ADC Young Gun Mikey Burton (YG8) will be appearing @ the Apple Store Chicago on April 26, 2012.
An Ohio native, Mikey Burton proudly describes his design aesthetic as “Midwesterny” and draws much of his inspiration from artifacts found throughout the hardworking, blue collar Rust Belt: old type-specimen sheets, arcane equipment manuals and ancient textbooks. “I’m fascinated with how past designers had to come up with ideas and solve problems using limited resources,” he said. “Like, for instance, figuring out how two colors can work harder than four. It helps me get to better solutions myself.” While earning his degree from Kent State University, Mikey became one of the founders of Little Jacket Design. He has received awards from Communication Arts, Print, HOW, CMYK, Logo Lounge and recently Print’s New Visual Artist. Mikey now lives in sunny Philadelphia, where he enjoys the myriad culinary delights of his adopted hometown, and continues to nurture his lifelong obsession with bears, which are “so cute and lovable, but probably the most dangerous animals ever."
ADC Young Gun James Wignall (YG9) will be appearing @ the Apple Store London on April 30, 2012.
James is currently working as a director / animator in London. Under his super-villain guise, Mutanthands, he's worked alongside many wonderful people: MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Sony, and Nike to name a few. He has come a long way for a Yorkshire lad. After working in a post-production house in Leeds for a few years, he decided to pack his backs and head south after hearing tales of the streets being paved with gold. James has had his work shown at events such as Pictoplasma and OneDotZero, and has contributed to websites such as Motiongrapher. With what little spare time he has left, he helps to run an animation / design screening night in London called "See No Evil." His wife thinks he is neglecting her.

With a keen eye for style and a skill for distilling brands into their most succinct form, Roanne is trusted and respected by clients and collaborators alike. Roanne has a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design. While at Parsons she worked for Honest, Surface to Air and Lansing-Dreiden. Prior to starting her own business, Roanne worked as a graphic designer & art director at Wolff Olins. Motivated and inspired by the feedback she was given and with a nearly full roster of clients, Roanne decided it was time to venture out on her own. Roanne's unique perspective on branding and the creative world has helped her company grow quickly, but organically, through word of mouth and has drawn the interest of talented designers, photographers, artists, and clients.
