Home » The Competition » Entry Instructions ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS ENTRIES FOR ADC YOUNG GUNS 8 ARE CLOSED. WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL BY JULY 19, 2010. CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR ADC YOUNG GUNS 9 OPENS SPRING 2011. All entries must be uploaded online. Only digital files will be accepted. We will not accept PDFs or anything other than the specified formats below. Do not mail in any hard copies of work. 6-10 entry pieces are required. (Go back here to review the rules.) Each entry 'piece' should highlight ONE single project from your body of work. We encourage campaigns to be entered as a single 'project'. A maximum of half of your pieces submitted can be personal work. The rest must be professional work (freelance and pro-bono work counts as professional work). Unpublished and client-rejected spec work counts as personal work. INSTRUCTIONS: For each piece, you will be prompted to fill out the 'Title' and 'Role' fields. The 'Role' field should contain what your role was within the project (Photographer, Art Director, Illustrator, etc...). Other persons who were major contributors to the project should be credited in the 'description' field. You only need to fill out the "URL" field if your entry piece requires it (interactive work, video -see file requirements below, or if you are showing multiple images for a project that wouldn't fit within the file requirements for uploading - see below). In the 'Project Type' field, select whether the piece was professional or personal work. Lastly, enter all credits in the 'Description' field - please credit yourself as well as all others that worked with you. In the "Description" field you should also enter a client name (if applicable) and any other relevant information describing the piece. If you are entering a website that is password protected, please provide this information here as well. Example: Description: This was done for the Spring 2005 launch of [Client]'s new denim line. It was featured in a special pull-out section of the May 2005 Issue of [Magazine]. On the following page (step 2), you will be asked to upload your files. You may upload one file per entry piece. If you would like to show multiple views of a piece, you must tile these into one file within the file requirements below. Your other option for showing multiple images is to embed them into a single URL page (that contains only images pertinent to the project) and provide us with the URL. FILE REQUIREMENTS: Print, 3D, Environmental: Resolution: 72dpi (MUST BE LOW-RES), RGB File format: JPEG (save as filename.jpg) NO ZIPPED/STUFFED FILES or PDFs Maximum file size: 2MB Maximum of 1,000 px on the longest side Web/Interactive: For dynamic (live) sites, provide the URL. All URLs must remain live through December 2010. Please also upload one screen shot (as a JPEG) for each site you enter. Radio/Audio: Please upload an MP3 file of your audio/radio entry (save as filename.mp3) Upload: 128kpbs bit rate Include a 6-second leader for all entries (for campaigns, please include 1 second between each spot) Maximum file size: 3MB Broadcast/Video: Submit 1 quicktime per entry. For campaigns, edit spots together and include 1 second of black between each. Compress using H.264 codec to 640x480 Maximum Quicktime size: 5MB If you cannot meet these size requirements, please upload a screen shot of your video (as a JPEG) and provide a URL where the jury can watch it (Vimeo or YouTube is okay) Make sure the video loads quickly and that it plays in the browser and does NOT prompt the user for a download.
